Ballerina
was purchased as a 2 year old in 1978 from her
breeder Brantshammar stud. She was a mare with
character and charisma, nice to humans, but in
the herd of horses she usually took the lead.
Already as a filly she many times made older
horses get out of the way of her.
At the beginning Ballerina
was ridden and shown in dressage classes at club
level. 1988 her first foal was born, to be
followed by 5 more. Ballerina has been shown in
hand at breed shows as well, and been given
scores up to 39p. (silver and class 1) In 1999
she was inspected and approved for the stud book,
as also oversized mares then had been allowed to
enter it.
Ballerina
spent her last years in retirement, as the alpha
mare and a super nanny for the fillies. Being
introduced to thefillyfoal born 2005, she soon
adopted Potentilla as her very own foal and
"Potty" for sure will miss her
"mom".
